Quad biking is one of the few Marrakech activities that actually lives up to the photos — provided you ride in the right place. The city itself has no terrain, so every "quad biking Marrakech" tour you see advertised actually takes you somewhere else: the palm grove on the northern edge, the Agafay plateau to the south, or the foothills of the Atlas. Those three options are not equivalent, and the difference in what you get for your money is large.
The Three Places You Can Actually Ride
The Palmeraie is the closest, about 20 minutes from the medina. It is a palm grove threaded with sandy tracks, and it is where most cheap tours go. It is fine, but you are riding past hotel walls and rubbish tips as often as palm trees, and the circuit is short.
The Agafay Desert is 30-40 minutes south. This is open stone desert — bare ochre hills, dry riverbeds, no walls and no traffic, with the High Atlas across the horizon. It is the ride people picture when they imagine quad biking in Morocco.
The Atlas foothills around Lalla Takerkoust offer a mix: reservoir views and rougher, more technical tracks. Good if you already ride.

What a Marrakech Quad Tour Actually Includes
A standard tour is two hours of riding plus transfers. A reputable operator includes hotel pick-up and drop-off, the quad and fuel, a helmet and goggles, a guide who rides with the group, and a mint tea stop. Ours includes all of that.
Things that are often not included and worth asking about before you pay: insurance, a second rider on the same machine, and whether the advertised price is per quad or per person. That last one is the most common source of arguments at the end of a tour.
Prices: What You Should Expect to Pay
For a two-hour ride with transfers from Marrakech, expect roughly 450-700 MAD per quad (about €40-65). Below 350 MAD you are usually looking at a short palm-grove loop, older machines, or a price that excludes transfers.

Do You Need Experience or a Licence?
No licence is needed — these are private tracks, not public roads — and no experience is required. Every departure starts with a fifteen-minute briefing and a slow practice lap. When to Go
